The Alpena Health Center

The alpena health center is a non-profit federally qualified community healthcare that has been around for over 45 years. They offer medical, behavioral health and dental services. They are committed to HRSA compliance and quality improvement. They are also a recognized Patient-Centered Medical Home by NCQA. They have multiple locations in northeast Michigan.

The facility is like most hospitals you may be familiar with in that they have departments for different specialties. In the case of this facility, they have a robust behavioral health department where they treat patients suffering from mental illness and substance abuse. They are able to provide inpatient and outpatient care. In addition to the behavioral health department, they have an outpatient substance abuse treatment program as well as a full range of family and children’s programs.

This organization has an outstanding reputation for treating people with substance abuse issues. They have an excellent team of doctors and nurses that work together to help patients overcome their addictions. The program is individualized to each patient so that they can get the treatment they need to be successful. The staff is also very knowledgeable when it comes to addiction recovery and can connect you with other resources in the area that will make your recovery more effective.

They are currently constructing a new medical and behavioral building in Alpena. The goal is to put pediatric and behavioral health under one roof for easier access and coordination of care. The pediatrician, Leah Conboy and child/adolescent psychiatrist Adrienne Westphal will move to the new space once it is completed.
