Aliferis Memorial Race - September 4

The Aliferis Memorial Run/Walk/Bike Race is an annual charity event traditionally held on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend. Events include a Half Marathon Run, a 5K Run, a 2-Mile Walk, a 30K Bike Race/Tour and a Tot Trot. Race participants receive a commemorative t-shirt and are eligible to win U of M football tickets. All proceeds of this event benefit the Peter Aliferis Scholarship Fund, the Alpena Cancer Center, and Vital Patient Enhancement II Project at Alpena Regional Medical Center. This event is endorsed by the Governor's Council on Physical Fitness, Health & Sports and all participants are eligible to enter the lottery to run with Governor in the Mackinaw Bridge Labor Day Run.
