Radiology/Diagnostic Imaging The Radiology Department is 95% film less. This is made possible through the Kodak Digital Imaging System (PACS) of which ARMC is an international Showsite for other hospitals looking to implement digital imaging. This is the most technologically advanced imaging system and allows for instantaneous transfer of high-quality images via the internet. This form of picture gives better contrast and allows for magnification of images both options regular film does not provide Services ARMC offers the most current, up-to-date diagnostic services for both inpatients and outpatients including: - Positron Emission Tomography (PET)
--Gives physicians a look inside the biological functioning of the body. PET is used at ARMC for cancer staging and Alzheimer’s detection. - Computed Tomography (CT)
--Gives physicians the ability to obtain cross sections of the body - Nuclear Medicine
--Nuclear medicine uses a small amount of radioactive material that document organ function and structure to image the body and treat disease. - Ultrasound
--Uses reflections of high-frequency sound waves to construct an image of the body - Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
--This commonly used form of medical imaging is a method that allows physicians to create images of the body. - Cardiac Catheterization
--Investigates, in real time, the heart and arteries to determine if they are blocked or damaged.
